Props Maker

About the role

We’re looking for a handy teammate as a props maker — someone to help us physically prepare the set, build the sets themselves and sort out technical snags around the studio. If you’re a student or a graduate of a technical field and you’re comfortable picking up a drill or a hammer and so on, you’re exactly who we’re after. In this role the practical and technical side of our shoots is yours to run.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing, making, assembling and modifying sets and props to fit the script
  • Working with workshop tools (drill, cordless screwdriver, saw, hammer and so on)
  • Helping prepare the set, the lighting and basic electrical work before a shoot
  • Solving technical problems and making adjustments on the spot, on set

What we’re looking for:

  • Practical skill with your hands and plenty of common sense (experience with tools is required)
  • Ideally a technical education (secondary school, vocational school or university)
  • The ability to work out the materials and the method for building a set
  • The ability to improvise and quickly repair or adapt a prop to fit
  • A basic understanding of electrical work or technical kit is a plus
  • Reliability, independence and punctuality on shoot days

Perks and benefits

We offer flexible arrangements that work around your studies, fair pay, and the chance to see the results of your work in finished videos watched by hundreds of thousands of people. Expect varied work in an informal, creative team where no two days bring the same task.

If you’re good with your hands, not afraid of assembling, cutting and repairing things, and you want to run the technical backbone of our videos, click the form button below. We’re looking forward to working with you!
